Upgrading... Upgrading...

I've been doing this little hobby of mine, sharing vids of virtual babe feet, for the past couple of years. It would not have been possible without access to means of video capture, and fortunately all this time I've been using an Archos Personal Media Player with record function, and it has proven up to now easy to use, problem-free and adequate. However, the videos captured are at best only VGA quality- that's 640 x 480 resolution at 30 frames per second. It's fine for older games, but for hi-res games like Tekken 6, Virtua Fighter 5 and Soulcalibur IV a lot of fine detail is lost. The recently-released Super Streetfighter IV in particular looks pretty crappy (which is why I haven't posted much from it so far).

So with HD being the proper way of seeing video these days, I finally went and bit the bullet, acquiring a solution to capturing video from games in High Definition. I'm not one for complicated capture cards and more for actual devices; so I chose the Hauppage HD Personal Video Recorder. As far as I know, it's the most easy-to-use HD recording device available readily and at a pretty good price. Admittedly, it's not as plug-and-play easy as the Archos device was- a computer is actually required to be hooked to the PVR with software for recording, albeit the machine does most of the actual recording work. Reviews are good and this machine looks to be the tool of choice for capturing HD game footage for us armchair web video casters, particularly on Youtube.

As of this writing, my order has 'already shipped', though I am not totally sure when it will arrive- it could be by next week at the earliest. Till then, I'll continue updates as usual, though I think I should put big vid projects like the Soulcalibur IV Knockouts series on hold since I'll surely be re-doing all the FMN vids in HD once I have the Hauppage in place. But think of it... Tekken 6, SCIV, SSFIV and potentially VF5R (or Final Showdown?) in eye-catching, sole-exposing, foot-lovin' HD! I'm excited, and I hope you guys are too. Fingers crossed that the Spirits of Shipping smile on my package and bring it safely and speedily to my doorstep. Later then!

  2. Thanks, KSC. It's actually a step long overdue, and with it I can finally take full advantage of the amazing graphics (and CG feet) in today and future games. I think it's a good investment for tomorrow... ^_^

  3. I know I'll definitely be looking forward to it, I'd really like to more of your Tekken 6 sole shots because I have quite a collection myself. I also would like to see some awesome shots of Juri, Ibuki and Makoto from SSF4 too, I know of a good number of techniques that'll reveal their sweet, soft and sexy soles.

  4. One more thing, I'd really like to know how you captured that hot shot of Lili's soles for your current avatar? I also hope things go over well with your camera's delivery.

  5. Stephan: I capture my Tekken 6 images (which I used on both my avatar and new header) using the PS3 version of the game. Tekken 6 PS3 is, nicely enough, one of the few games that supports the PS3's Screen Capture function (a very little known feature, I guess).

To take a screencap, you just press the Home button on the controller to open up the XMB. Go to the Photos section and use the Take Screenshot icon. To be honest, I'm having tons of fun just catching hot sole shot pics rather than actually playing the game! Heheh. I'll probably post a bunch of the best pics here on the blog soon.

I really can't wait for the HD PVR to arrive. It's gonna be awesome.

  6. Cool! I appreciate you informing me on how to take screen-shots, I actually have a few hundred of Lili, Asuka and Alisa's sexy soles already and few of the tops of sweet succulent toes. I was also curious about what attack you used that provided that pants tightening sole shot too though. I admit I love taking sole shots more than actually playing the at times too, ProTip: use King's left-side grab and hope that the camera will be positioned properly for the awesome soles to come in the replay.

  7. It's a large part of the fun to find which exact moves or throws give the best sole shots. Lili's many moves themselves often have her showing off incredible views of her soles flying right in your face, and often appealing to the panchira love as well. Repeating a move is needed to get to the camera angles that give the best views.

It's also best to take screencaps in Practice Mode, with the Attack Data turned Off (takes off the life bars). Also, taking caps in Practice mode is the only mode I know where there's no irritating text at the bottom-middle of the screen.
BTW, my avatar is taken from Lili's LP+LK throw if I remember correctly, the one where she grabs the opponent by the hair and then gives them an axe kick. You get the sole shot as she winds up for the kick, with a nice panty flash thrown in as well...

  8. Thanks! I'll give practice mode a go sometime, I plan to experiment a bit more to get more sole shots to add to my collection and hopefully have more variety in them.
