A Beautiful, Butt-kicking Barefoot Space Amazon? SOLD!
Punch Planet is an indie fighting game that I've had my eye on for quite a while. Development has been a bit on the slow side, but the animation and fighting action look really good. There are only a few fighters (4 so far), which does not bode well for any possible release anytime soon. But this is looking to be something to look forward to- and now, it seems to have borne fruit. They have finally posted a teaser for Tyara, a barefooted space amazon who caught my attention to this game in the first place. She looks pretty cool, and I am intrigued to know what her story is. Anyways, good to see the game has finally reached the point where they are now spotlighting her. This is no Tekken 7, nor does it need to be- the art style is unique and this is looking to be a quality brawler. One for the future then.
Here's another barefoot game babe from a few years back. Stake: Fortune Fighters was a 3D fighting game on the Microsoft Xbox. To any gamer worth their salt, its similarity to Capcom's far more superior Power Stone was pretty obvious. But unlike PS clones like Barbarian which was at least well done, Stake by developer Metro 3D was, at best, barely playable. In fact, Stake could probably bag the award of Worst Fighting Game Ever hands down. Even forgiving the bare bones and featureless skeleton of a game (which sported a totally useless 'Watch' Mode where you can't even pick what fighters will clash), Stake just flounders with a broken fighting system with floaty, slow and clunky controls, pointlessly large stages, environmental weapons or traps that did nothing but annoy the player, total absence of any story mode or background and more.
The only good things about the game were the neat character artworks... and the presence of a barefoot babe! The unshod hottie in Stake was Barty Beart, a mysterious and beautiful masked fortune-teller (easily she is probably Stake's version of Power Stone's Rouge). Well, at least I think she's a fortune-teller, since her weapon of choice is a crystal ball, which she throws at her opponents. Unfortunately I know little else about her; the game has sadly no specific storyline literature on its characters. All we know is that Barty is one of the many competing warriors in the game's tournament... and that she's quite the enchantress, with her kinky mask, big, barely-covered breasts and, of course, beautiful feet (which are seen far too little of in the character art). In her default outfit, Barty is wearing those ubiquitous instep guard leggings, but she has an alternate costume in the game where she shows a lot more skin in a blue bikini-type outfit. You can see both outfits in the vid below.
Barty's in-game model looks positively primitive compared to today's Tekken 6 and Virtua Fighter 5, but at least it's detailed enough for us to see that she's got nice, painted toenails on her pretty feet. She's certainly the sexpot of the game, given how the other babes are all relatively conservatively clothed. Unfortunately, Barty also seems to be one of the worst fighters in the game. Despite having what seems to be a strong magical power attack (which I don't know how to do), her basic strikes are so delayed and slow she doesn't seem to have a chance when fighting in-close... which is a fatal flaw in fighting games.
Well, nobody's perfect. I guess Barty's more for loving and telling fortunes than actual fighting. I'm sure footfans will love this beauty no matter what, and I'd be the first in line to give her a warm massage on those sexy feet and give her kisses all over her long toes and smooth soles once the fighting's all done. Anyway, even for this hottie, I don't recommend going out and getting an old Xbox or a copy of Stake... so just enjoy the vid and dream about Barty's lovely feet dangling before your eyes.
Right on the sexy bare heels of our last G.I. Joe bad girl Zarana comes arguably the most recognizable and iconic femme fatale in the franchise. Of course, I'm talking about the ruthlessly hot, lethal and sexy megane-beauty, The Baroness. Okay, in the movie she was played by the gorgeous Sienna Miller and was easily the hottest babe in the film (yeah, even more than goody-goody genius commando Scarlett), and even better she showed off some sole in a quick flashback. Well, in the cartoon series the Baroness is quite a bit different. She's a bit older and more mature, and she's got that somewhat grating voice and accent. That still doesn't take away from the fact that the Baroness is one hot babe. And of course, she's at her hottest in the episode entitled "The Gamesmaster" (episode 26), that odd chapter in the cartoon that throws two pairs from both the Joes and Cobra sides to play a deadly game of cat and mouse at the behest of the maniacal title character.
The great thing about the episode of course is that the Baroness was kidnapped as she was in the middle of enjoying a dip in a jacuzzi/pool, which leaves her in a bikini and barefoot for the whole episode. This pretty much made this ep a favorite of many a young viewer, and of course foot fans enjoyed it immensely. The animation wasn't as good as the movie version, but still, there are a couple of nice closeups of the Baroness' sexy bare feet, plus she even gets to roll around in the grass with ol' Flint... lucky guy. So check out the following vid with all the footage of this hot Cobra femme fatale.
While the Baroness is most often clad in her sexy form-fitting leather outfits and boots, I'm sure foot fans would love to strip off the undesirable accessories to give this dominating dominatrix some fitting service on her sexy soles and toes. As long as she doesn't talk much (man, that voice really grates), this hottie is one barefoot babe worth worshipping. Man, first Zarana and now the Baroness... Bad Girls really do rule, at least in G.I. Joe!
In the late 90s, Atari attempted to break into the 3D fighting arena with their own original beat 'em up. The game was Tenth Degree or Juko Threat, and it was worked on by James Goddard, who did work on Streetfighter and Namco's Weaponlord. Unfortunately, at the time the competition was particularly fierce- Namco had Tekken 3, while Sega had Virtua Fighter 3 and Fighting Vipers 2... all of which totally eclipsed Tenth Degree in pretty much every aspect. Since there seemed to be nothing new or exceptional about the title (it also failed to garner much attention during testing), the game was eventually dropped and never released.
Which is really too bad- if only for the reason that one of the fighters in Tenth Degree's roster is the lovely Sung (pictured above), a sexy taekwondo fighter whose design was surely made to capture barefoot fans' hearts. Unfortunately it was just not to be- I've scoured the web for footage of this Korean cutie in action, but to no avail (I even tried finding the MAME version of the game). Only the artwork above (but what a lovely artwork it is) and a few screenshots give us a taste of this babe's barefooted greatness, and hint at what could have been. Anyway, perhaps there was a reason why Tenth Degree was never released- maybe it sucked. Games have progressed since the late 90s, and other hot martial arts babes have taken the spotlight. But still, everytime I see Sung's artwork and gaze at those strong, sexy soles and toes... sigh. What could have been. Oh well.
Since I couldn't find a good video of Sung anywhere, I decided to recreate this hot TKD babe using Soulcalibur IV's Character Creation mode! I think she's a reasonably close representation of the original, and certainly she's hotter in HD graphics than any 90s arcade game could ever render her. So, check her out and enjoy a barefoot videogame babe brought back from the brink of obscurity, back into our foot-loving hearts. Enjoy!
