Bikini Karate Babes Mobile on Kickstarter

Let's have more barefoot babe fighting games on the go!

Aside from perhaps the upcoming Dead or Alive 5 Plus, there really aren't that many portable fighters (good or bad) with barefoot babes in them. If you've got an Android phone, you can get a PS1 Emulator (FPSe is my recommendation) and enjoy the original, classic Dead or Alive and unlock the babes' swimsuits for barefoot beach babe action. On PSP (Original) or 3DS, you can have some barefoot action in Tekken 6 or Tekken 3D Prime Edition. That's about it.

So really, the more barefoot babe fighting games get ported to mobile, the better. The sexy and funny brawler, Bikini Karate Babes is being ported to iOS and Android, which means sexy bikini and barefoot fighting action wherever you go. But to get this done, the creators, Creative Edge Studios, need quite a bit of help. They've started a campaign on Kickstarter to fund the game's development. As of this writing, the pledges are nowhere near close to the required amount. So I'm here to try and get more gamers- footfan gamers- to pledge some loose change to help. All that's needed is at least 5 dollars for a good return- the full mobile game AND an exclusive character.

Barefoot Bikini Babes Battle in Warriors of Elysia

Wow, this is a bit of a surprise. Some of you out there may know about a fighting game from several years back called Bikini Karate Babes, a tongue-in-cheek brawler which used digitized images of actual human performers ala Mortal Kombat. But while MK used martial artists and ninjas, BKB used... well, bikini babes. It was a funny little indie beat 'em up which didn't take itself too seriously and had quite a few lovely bikini-clad and barefoot ladies in the roster, performing silly kung-fu kicks and strikes and generally looking hot. But as comedic as the first game was, the sequel, Warriors of Elysia, ramped up the seriousness with a less humor-filled storyline of martial arts-fighting amazons waging war on their island realm. There's a fallen goddess, an army of rebels-turned-conquerors and once-mortal-opponents coming together to save their land from the upstart invaders. But really... all we need to care about is that this game is chock to the rafters with barefoot babes kicking the asses of other similarly shoeless hotties, so sign us up!

Well, trouble is, Warriors of Elysia has been in development for the past several years- I mean, this game was being developed in the same years as Metal Gear Solid 4, and it's STILL not out. You'd think a fighting game wouldn't dare come out with graphical powerhouses like Soulcalibur IV, Tekken 6 or Streetfighter IV in the market, but well, this IS an indie game and is just for PC, so they don't really care- all they need, I guess, is the support of some of the most long-standing fans (or most rabid bikini babe-hungry dudes) on the planet.

Well, anyways, any doubt that this game was just vaporware have melted away with a playable demo being available on Direct2Drive. But while a new preorder offer has been opened up, there's STILL no release date yet again... but at least you can play a teeny bit of it if you really want to. Anyways, I say just enjoy the HD demo gameplay video above, and just give this game another look once it's actually out- but I'd wager that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be out and available before that happens. Heheh...

Warriors of Elysia Full Trailer

Several years ago, a game called Bikini Karate Babes was released. Part parody, part cheesecake panolpy, this fighter featured digitized graphics of real female performers, giving it a Mortal Kombat-style of look. It actually didn't take itself too seriously, featuring among other things fart moves and special attacks that had fighters stealing off their enemies' tops. Really, it all looked and moved more like an amateur effort and not a serious entry into the beat 'em up genre. Well, I didn't really care about that since the game featured, well, bikini babes- to be more exact, barefoot bikini babes... so it was great for me.

Since then, the studio responsible- Creative Edge- has been plugging away at a sequel, Warriors of Elysia. From all indications, WOE does a 180 away from the original, adopting a more serious storyline and tone... well, as serious as an all-out war set on an island populated completely by hot barefoot babes in bikinis can get. The game has been in development for what it seems like an eternity, but apparently it will finally see release on PC this October. As cheesy as it is, I can't resist a game full of so many live-action barefoot martial arts beauties... too bad it's on PC (I'm on Mac), so unless they put out a version for OSX or consoles, I'll have to pass. Still, we'll see, as it's still a long way to October. For now, enjoy the full trailer, just released recently on Youtube.
