DOA5 Ultimate Knockouts and the Future!

Over the holidays, I've been having a TON of fun rediscovering Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate.  I have to admit, while I've been a fan of the DOA series in general since the godly PSX version (which is, I believe, one of the first ever games to include unlockable barefoot swimsuits for the babes), my relationship with the franchise has been a rocky one. The game endlessly teased us with seemingly countless itinerations of DOA2, most of whom had absolutely zilch barefoot babe content at all. DOA3 came and inttroduced Hitomi, but other than that again was a dry bone. DOA4 pretty much lost me, and it wasn't until DOA5 Ultimate that FINALLY someone at Team Ninja apparently realized that there are people who like seeing the girls barefoot (usually in their swimsuits).



That the game is pretty challenging and some of the girls kinda hard to beat makes the KO sequences that follow that much more... satisfying.

Aside from that, I truly enjoyed at least the way they updated the girls' looks in the latest game- transitioning from the more anime-esque look of the past models to the slightly more realistic style of today- at the very least the girls have more unique looks from each other (Helena is truly a goddess).

My two big gripes with the game still bite though- one, the character models' feet are still far from looking the best. While the feet look great from above, at the sole view the girls' feet lack detail and could do with more life-like skin texture (Tekken 6 did this awesomely I think), and the toes seem to stick together. Also there's that weird issue of how the feet bend far too high up above the ankle, which is of course unnatural.

The other problem I have with DOA5 is the seeming lack of proper knockouts. This irritating bit started in DOA4, where every round ends usually with the losing character looking dizzy but basically still CONSCIOUS even though they may have been finished off by a fall from a hundred feet or a brain-busting suplex. This inability to render an enemy properly unconscious truly takes away a lot of the satisfaction in this game for me. To be fair, there IS an actual KO animation/frame in the game, but you need to hit the downed enemy with a certain hit to see it, and it is very, very brief to see (you literally have to hit them immediately after the actual KO hit or it to register without being cut off.

Anyway, thanks to my dabbling in the XNA Lara/XPS Posing program, I have managed to circumvent the lack of Knockouts in the game by, well, adding them in myself! Yep. DOA5, I REJECT your reality and substitute my own!



I guess this goes beyond just the foot fetish and crossing into the KO/sleepy fetish, but I believe these go hand in hand...

So I basically pose the models myself and add in these 'KO Endings' after the actual fights. The only limitation are, of course, the available models for both the characters and the models. I have at least one or two barefoot costume models of each girl, and about three stages- though I decided to use a bit of 'creative license' for some extra KO sequences.

For example, an Alternate KO Ending usable for the urban stages has the loser's unconscious bod being loaded onto the back of a mysterious van, to be taken away to some unknown fate (for the record, they're being sent to a spa to get a rejuvenating massage). I may add some more depending on what I think up. Yeah, it's kinda weird but hey, it's fun- like cooking up 'Fatalities'  but in DOA.



I can only do KO endings using the girls and stages I have models with, sadly. But thankfully I have enough...

Anyways, sadly there's nothing as yet I can do to remedy my second gripe- the foot model problem. Even sadder, it is quite apparent that this won't change in the upcoming Dead or Alive 5 Last Round release this coming February. However, I am looking forward to the prospect of seeing this gorgeous game in action in full 1080p.
Also, there IS the possibility that since it will be released on PC, there IS the possibility that modders may do the same wonders to the character models' feet that they did with Skyrim- that is, substitute more detailed, life-like foot models for the sub-standard ones from Team Ninja. Darn, just the thought of the DOA girls finally getting more realistic, detailed feet... wow. Please modders- someone like Sloth86 or such- PLEASE step up to this vital task! You are our only hope!

Dead or Alive 5 Sexy Snapshots!

Gotta say, I am really growing into Dead or Alive 5's combo-heavy action, but a lot of the fun I'm having with this game is with the Photo feature. You can capture screenshots from your replays, which means you can set up some pretty nice action with the babes (and blokes, if you want). Thankfully taking a pic is easier than in the previous games, and you can pause the action so you can fix up the angle for the best, er, views. Heheh.

My one big gripe though is that actually accessing the pics is tedious as hell. The interface is horrible (or may I say, non-existent) and you have to go through a couple of loading times and a menu each time you want to see an individual pic. Simple deleting or viewing any single pic takes too long. All this, plus you can't really output or view your screenshots outside of the TV or transfer them anywhere as picture files (the PSV can, but I haven't tried that). The pics here I screencapped using my computer from 720p video- a bit more effort than you really should. Team Ninja, fix this up!

Dead or Alive 5: Bikini-clad and Barefoot, FINALLY!

OKAY, THERE WAS A NICE PIC OF KASUMI IN HER PARADISE BIKINI ABOVE, BUT IMAGESHACK APPARENTLY FINDS PICS OF CG GIRLS IN BIKINIS A VIOLATION OF THEIR TOS. I RECOMMEND THAT IF YOU WANT A PHOTO UPLOAD SERVICE THAT WON'T SCREW YOU FOR NO REASON, DO NOT PICK IMAGESHACK.

Before pretty much any other fighting game, it was really Dead or Alive that pushed fan service in my heart’s direction. It was DOA on the Saturn that first gave us a barefoot and bikini-clad Leifang (that’s why she’s a sentimental fave of mine), and later all four of the first batch of DOA girls went swimsuit-clad and shoeless in the now-classic (and still awesome) DOA on Playstation.

From there on, fans of the game have always expected hotness from the franchise, even if often disappointment would follow. Really, in the many, many DOA releases since DOA PSX (particularly among the gazillion re-releases of Dead or Alive 2),  Team Ninja saw fit to NOT give much in alternate outfits, and not one single barefoot costume was seen in the series until Dead or Alive 3 (Enter Hitomi, barefoot karate princess!).




Contrary to what I thought earlier, you CAN actually knock someone out in DOA5.

Afterwards though, once again disappointments followed. Yeah, DOAX and DOAX2 were fan service to the Xtreme (hah) but they weren’t fighters but silly side games that I just didn’t get into. When the actual sequel to the series- Dead or Alive 4- finally arrived, once again, no alternate outfits and even Hitomi somehow managed to NOT wear her karate gi in the game. That was the time where I just said, EFF YOU, Team Ninja and DOA. And I went off to find soleful joys in other games like Tekken, VF, Streetfighter and more.

Still, I’ve always kept an eye on DOA. There was always a possibility of barefoot fan service returning, I thought… and well, after quite a long wait it has arrived in the form of a portable port and some exclusive (for now) DLC. But yes, The Dead or Alive Girls are finally ALL barefoot and hotter than ever before in Dead or Alive 5. It took a while, but here it is.

As I’ve been monitoring here for the past couple of months, Dead or Alive 5 Plus on the Playstation Vita received several cool bonuses. Including some exclusive outfits. These new costumes include the so-called ‘Getaway’ Set of Swimsuits- which I guess means ‘Get Away from Shoes’ since all the girls are barefoot in these new pieces of swimwear.

Girlfights are hot already- barefoot girlfights ten times hotter.

And I have to say, the girls look amazing, and their feet are markedly improved in detail and shape from previous DOA games. The swimsuits themselves are mostly sexy numbers, though I really just don’t dig the skirt/skort-style suits given to Leifang, Hitomi and Sarah.

Bottom-line though, the girls are finally barefoot and I am happy beyond words. Hoping that this bodes well for the future- hoping that more barefoot outfits are released, both for DOA5 and the inevitable sequel.

I won’t lie- the sexy and wicked Christie has always been my favorite and this is a dream come true… I’ve been waiting to see her fighting barefoot since DOA3, dammit! Well, I am certainly happy now- her swimsuit is hot as heck, and she just looks amazing (loving the painted toenails…) when she’s punishing her foes or getting pummeled herself. Check her out in a hot and sexy KO in the vid below (I am so glad that DOA5 indeed has an actual KO animation… kinda hard to see but still pretty excellent). Nice views… doesn’t that make you want to just kiss her sleepy soles? Mmmm.

I also kinda realized that DOATEC mistress Helena Douglas has also been another fave of mine- and that I’ve wanted to see her fight shoeless since DOA2. Suffice to say- she looks like an absolute angel in DOA5- the visual style makes her look like a real woman instead of the anime doll she was in her earlier appearances. And that swimsuit… there’s something about white swimsuits… Man, she’s a vision to see. Good thing she kicks butt as well! I’d kiss her soles and toes in worship anytime. Heheh.

I’ll see about posting more vids- both battle vids (Solo and Tag) and ‘special’ ones in the weeks and months ahead. No need to hurry, this game is now on my channel for good and here to stay with the rest of my fave fighters. So check there for even more vids.

I am truly looking forward to enjoying the newly-barefoot DOA Girls for a long time to come. With this, DOA has finally returned to the fold and actually jumped feet-first into my Inner Circle of Best Barefoot Babe Fighting Games. HALLELLUIAH!

The barefoot ‘Getaway’ Swimsuit Set is as yet only available as an exclusive bonus DLC for the Japanese/Asian Collector’s Editions of Dead or Alive 5 PLUS for the PS Vita (they appear on my PS3 via Cross-DLC). I assume they will become available for other PS3 gamers (and to the Xbox360 players) eventually. I’ll update here or on another post about that.

DOA Girls' Barefoot Swimsuits (Dead or Alive 5 Plus)

Finally barefoot bikini babes again in a proper DOA game!

Here's a peek at the 'Paradise' set of swimsuits that will debut in the upcoming Dead or Alive 5 Plus for the Playstation Vita. As far as I can tell, these suits will have the girls barefoot, although as of right now I have only actually confirmed this for Kasumi, Hitomi, Ayane and Christie. The way Team Ninja does things though, chances are all of these suits will come sans footwear... which makes them treats for us! Hey, this IS a big event... the last time the DOA babes were barefoot in swimsuits in a real DOA fighter was waaaaay back in Dead or Alive on the PSOne (still my fave, which I keep and play on my Android smartphone... heheh).

No word yet though on when or if these suits will be available as DLC for the PS3 (which I am hoping for). I am not that hot with buying a Vita just for DOA5 Plus (can't share vids of that after all). So we'll just wait and see for now and bide our time till these awesome barefoot bikinis are more available. This is a great sign though, and hopefully more barefoot costumes will appear in DOA in the near future.

UPDATE: Just embedded a YT video from some Japanese show with Team Ninja showing off DOA5 Plus to some celebrities. There's a match with Kasumi in her sexy, sexy barefoot thong bikini, although sadly the vid is kinda low-res. Even sadder, it's pretty apparent from the vid that the Japanese are pretty much all about boobs. Still, it's something to see as this game heads to release.

A nice little bit to end the week- a couple of new screenshots were added to the official site of Dead or Alive 5 Plus, and one of them (the one above, to be exact) shows us something a lot of foot-lovers have been asking for since DOA3- a barefoot Christie. Fans of nail polish will definitely be loving this femme fatale's bright red toenails. Yummy!

I think this is a great sign that all the girls in DOA5 Plus will be getting at least one barefoot swimsuit outfit, or even better, the game may even have a shoe toggle feature. Well, in any case the barefoot costumes should make their way to the PS3 eventually as DLC, or as part of the cross-DLC feature if you have a Vita as well. But of course, I think we'd all prefer the shoe-less outfits to be available on either platform so we're not forced to buy a new Vita if we don't want to.

Anyway, this really made me glad, and I think footfans will be very happy in the next couple of weeks, and once Dead or Alive 5 Plus arrives. My PS3 is ready for some barefoot DOA babes! More as we get more pics or even footage. I can't wait!

Dead or Alive 5 Plus (PS Vita): The Next Big Barefoot Babe Fighter?

Among other things, the scan confirms at least Kasumi can be barefoot in DOA5 Plus.

Okay, a bit of good news and bad news. The good news is, well, according to the below scan for Dead or Alive Plus (PS Vita) from the latest issue of Famitsu, it seems that indeed there will be some sort of barefoot customization or barefoot costumes in the game. As we can see in the scan despite the crappy, blurry quality, Kasumi is obviously barefoot in her bikini. We're not sure yet if the outfit comes without footwear by default, or if you can toggle the sandals (I suspect you can toggle, since this was something asked by foot-loving gamers last year in a petition). I'd love for this, since it may mean that every girl can be barefoot, and hopefully in not just their swimsuit outfits but in other costumes as well.

To add to the tease (aside from the first trailer of DOA5 Plus), I found this tantalizing pic of Pai Chan posing in her swimsuit sans sandals on the Team Ninja Facebook page... man, does Pai look scrumptious.

 In addition to the potential barefoot awesomeness, the PS Vita version of DOA5 also come with a First Person Touchscreen mode where you can battle your opponents using the Vita touchscreen, even launching them with juggles and observing them from various angles (well played, Team Ninja). Looks like TN is pulling out all the stops with DOA5 Plus- Gravure scenes, teasing camera angles, touchscreen controls, more than 100 costumes (according to the official site)... and now, barefoot customization? Color me impressed. Oh, the bad news? Looks like we're going to have to shell out the cash to buy a Vita, folks... if this game turns out to be all that it looks to be, it may be worth it. With Tekken and SF being quiet all this time, looks like Dead or Alive 5 Plus (which will be cross-compatible with the PS3 game) is going to steal footfans' hearts this March.

Lookback: Barefoot Babe Gaming 2012

The year when the world was supposed to end is almost over, but thankfully we’re all still here apparently. So that means, MORE barefoot babe gaming to enjoy next year! But before we head off to uncharted territory, here’s a short look back at the year that was in virtual sole-hunting, the Highs, the Lows and some stuff in between.

Best Barefoot Babe Game of the Year is surely Sega’s Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown. Hell, for a price less than any console fighter, you get what is perhaps the deepest fighting game you can get- an arcade classic filled with beautiful martial arts and a roster of cool fighters. Oh, and the cool Character Customization feature allows you to have each of the game's hot ladies barefoot, like any awesome fighting game should, as well as dress them up or down to just skimpy, sexy bikinis. I’ve been wanting VF5FS on my consoles for years, and FINALLY, my wish came true. Truly a treasure with barefoot babe hotness to be enjoyed as you please. All that, plus the game is super-cheap, so if you have a PS3 or an Xbox360, this is a Must Have!

Best Female Bare Feet in a Non-Fighting Game surely has to go to the lovely soles and toes in The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim on PC, once you’ve installed the awesome FemFeet mod. Created by the divine modder Phygit, the mod replaces the default, ugly melted wax stumps for feet we had to suffer through with truly gorgeous-looking bare feet. The detail is amazing, down to individual toenails to the fleshy realistic soles. This is probably as good as it gets for feet in videogames as yet.
This mod pretty much rescued Skyrim from being a total waste to easily the game that any foot lover MUST have- as long as they own a good gaming PC. Hell, if you don’t, get one- this game is just that hot. Install the mod, and live your sole-hunting dreams vicariously in this awesome virtual fantasy world and RPG.

Biggest Disappointment for me in 2012 was, without a doubt, Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Namco-Bandai’s big budget, overstuffed tag team fighter came with pretty much every fighter worth mentioning in the Tekken universe, but sadly came as well with truncated, dumbed-down character customization that took away Bare Feet as an option. WHAT THE HELL? That’s about as basic as you can get, and they take it away? In any case, whether you were a barefoot fan or not, gamers generally found the customization feature in TTT2 lacking, so hopefully the next Tekken will bring back more detailed customs (and hot, sexy barefoot babes) for our pleasure.
Runner Up: Another Big Disappointment in the year was Dead or Alive 5. This Tecmo sequel threw in sexy bikinis for the ladies, but all of them came with shoes and sandals- BOGUS! Sadly, not even a petition for Shoe Toggling by some footfans online hasn't panned out yet- apparently there isn't a single foot-lover in Team Ninja. All of them are boobs. Sigh...

Biggest Comeback. To be fair though, at least while Tekken Tag 2 removed actual barefoot customization, it did give us more barefoot babes (and semi-barefoot babes) than the original ever did, and the sexy and funny new Item Move KO animations were pretty awesome. So Tekken Tag 2 is still a winner of a game, despite being a step back from Tekken 6. It also gave us another treat...



Leo. Yummy.

Big Barefoot Babe Surprise of 2012 for me was seeing Tekken tomboy Leo Kliesen barefoot!  Now, that wouldn’t have mattered a few years ago, when her gender was in question… but since the German cutie has since been confirmed as truly female, we haven’t looked at Leo the same way. Oddly enough, of all the females in TTT2, she has a couple of swimwear outfits that have her barefoot, and she certainly looks quite fetching in them. Yeah, there are a couple of other barefoot beauties in TTT2, but Leo just has that freshness to her and I found myself an all-new favorite hottie. Here’s to more barefoot Leo in the next Tekken games!

Best Barefoot Sequel in 2012 is surely Soul Calibur V! Yeah, this game may be a bit lacking in Single Player replayability and the Story mode kinda sucked… but the Character Creation is as sexy as ever, and the game’s character models are HOT. Well, ever since SCIV you can’t really go wrong with Soul Calibur… if only the feet and soles of the models were as detailed and nicely-rendered as in the Tekken games… Still, man, the babes in SC are hot as heck, and I can’t imagine my barefoot babe game library without this slash ‘em up. Hoping we see another tale of Soles and Swords in the near future!



Best. Closeup. Ever.

Best Barefoot Modding and overall Most Valuable Game in terms of Barefoot Babes goes to Streetfighter X Tekken on PC. For the whole year, barefoot babe lovers with a PC have been treated to mod after mod that thankfully de-booted the ladies in this cross-over fighter. By now every babe has at least one awesome barefoot mod, and I can’t get enough of the detailed feet and the cool, sexy views of this brawler. Barefoot Cammy, Chun-Li, Juri and Nina are my absolute faves in this one, and there’s even more soleful action to come, thanks to a large number of active modders. So much value for foot-lovers surely makes SFxTK well worth investing in a good PC or laptop for!

Chun-Li and Cammy: Barefoot and beautiful brawlers in Streetfighter X Tekken.

Best Barefoot Babe Heroines surely goes to Capcom’s flagship femme fatales, Chun-Li and Cammy in Streetfighter X Tekken on PC. These two make an awesome killer team, with Chun’s kicks and fireballs making her a versatile combatant, while the super-fast Killer Bee hits super-hard with her lightning quick Cannon Spike. Their team combos are easy to pull off and their styles just flow easily into one another’s…. plus both look freakin’ hot. Chun-Li’s goody-two shoes personality also meshes well with Cammy’s no-nonsense toughness. Someone put these babes on a pedestal (the better to see their hot soles with!) right away!

Best Barefoot Bad Girl goes definitely to Juri Han from Streetfighter. She was already smoking in her debut in SSFIVAE, but in Streetfighter X Tekken, she’s definitely smoldering, with her psychotic charm pumped up even more. Doesn’t hurt she gets some awesome, sexy mods- the best of which is surely the Flesh Pit Costume mod borrowed from another fighting femme fatale, Mortal Kombat’s Mileena- but of course, Juri’s even sexier in it than Mileena (thanks to the lack of Tarkatan looks!). I’m hoping that this TKD Vixen continues to stalk the good guys in future Streetfighter titles, and hopefully in the (upcoming) Tekken X Streetfighter.

2012 was a great year for foot-loving gamers, despite a couple of glaring low spots. I’m hopeful for more barefoot babes in the new year! Intriguingly, there future isn’t very clearly-defined… we don’t know fore sure what games will be coming in the months ahead, but I know I’ll continue to enjoy the tons of games we already have as we wait. I’ll continue to post about our shared passion here and renew my hunt for the sexiest virtual bare feet in videogames in 2013. Here’s to more soleful treats in store for us soon! 

Dead or Alive 5 Barefoot... Body Pillow Babes?

I've got good news and bad news. The good news? As you can see above, Ayane and Kokoro finally get outfits that have them baring their lovably kissable feet. The bad news? It's NOT in-game... these images are from a batch of upcoming DOA5 Body Pillows. BODY PILLOWS. Yep, these artworks will be gracing cushions for some Japanese gamers to hug, caress and... well, whatever. And here I was thinking that Team Ninja finally did well to give us foot fans our fervent wish for barefoot customization or barefoot outfits in Dead or Alive 5.
Anyway, the images above really look nice, but this isn't my thing. Not sure if these will be available outside Japan (I doubt it), but if you want them, importing will be your friend. The pillows will be out on January 2013.

I'm still hoping that Team Ninja eventually puts out some more barefoot outfits for the game as DLC- thankfully they don't seem to be stopping in their periodic add-ons just yet. For now though, well, enjoy the images. Dibs on Ayane! Heheh...

Trick or Feet! The Scary Soles of Gaming (2012)

It's that time of the year again, when our thoughts turn to the macabre, the eerie and the unnerving. Yep, it's Halloween, and here is another bunch of scary yet oddly sexy virtual barefoot babes to both titillate and terrify. Trick or Tease!

Alpha-152 (Dead or Alive 5)

Our first babe is none other than the gel-like Final Boss of Dead or Alive 4 and the recently-released Dead or Alive 5. The 'Ultimate Weapon' of the evil DOATEC corporation created from the data and material of Kasumi, this bestial female fury has a penchant for hovering around and flitting like a spirit, teleporting out of harm's way and ripping opponent's to shreds with her long combos. Yeah, she may be kinda cute in a bath toy sort of way, but she also creepily groans, moans and overall acts like an animal. Maybe some of you may like that but I just find it scary. Alpha seems to have been destroyed at the end of DOA5's Story Mode, but can death really keep a good scary babe down?

Claudia (Silent Hill)

Yeah, she's kinda fetching but surely reeks of stink and evil...

In all the pantheons of Konami's creepy Silent Hill series, easily the most easy on the eyes is the undeniably unhinged and creepy Claudia Wolf. A mysterious character encountered by protagonist Heather in Silent Hill 3, she eventually was revealed to be an antagonist, albeit she wasn't a totally evil character, but more a religious fanatic and perhaps a bit insane. But then, she does have her Gwyneth Paltrow/Cate Blanchett-ish looks (albeit she really looks like she hasn't showered or bathed in a long time) and her general aversion to footwear. Still, that scene where she scarfs down a demonic fetus just turns me a bit off.... YIKES!

Siren (Bioshock Infinite)

Surely the prettiest of the Heavy Hitters in Bioshock Infinite...

Little is really known about The Siren, one of the 'Heavy Hitters' or boss-like enemies you'll encounter in the upcoming Bioshock Infinite. She's the only female of the crew, and has the unsettling ability to resurrect enemies you've already slain. Her spectral appearance is sure to give many the creeps- who knows what kind of visage lies beneat her ghostly wraps- a wispy beauty or an image of horror? I bet we'd all be better off just ogling her feet in any case.

Zozo (Code of Princess)

 Our next babe comes from the 3DS RPG/Brawler Code of Princess. The Necromancer Zozo is one of the many playable allies your protagonist can recruit to her cause. Zozo's not really undead, but a necromancer who's currently trapped in a makeshift body. Perhaps the real Zozo is prettier (although I suspect she looks similar to her temporary body) and livelier; her current host though, while kinda cute with the panties and pink hair, just rubs me off the wrong way. Angel (Tekken Tag Tournament 2)


Don't get this lady angry. You wouldn't like her when she's angry.

You'd ask, why is Angel in this article? Isn't she a stunning beauty with heavenly bare feet that are just made for worshipping? Well, yes but that still doesn't change the fact that this supernatural warrior can, when she's angry or shooting her eye beams, take on an enraged look on her face that would strike the fear of the apocalypse in all who beholds her. YEESH! Again... just concentrate on her soles and her toes... just keep thinking of her lovely, suckable toes...


Unknown (Tekken Tag Tournament 2)

Next up is the eerily beautiful end boss of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, the goo-covered Unknown. Despite the evil black slime all over her nubile body, the yellow eyes and the evil-possessed aura, Unknown surely has a lot of admirers among gamers all over the place, whether they're footfans or not. We all know there's a fair lady (with succulent feet) under all that evil goo. You just need to beat her senseless and then wash her off with holy power to get her. But then again, what would she be then but a plain jane? No, I guess we'll just take Unknown as she is, black body paint and all. Don't ever change, my lady. Don't smash my face in either, please...

Deborah Harper (Resident Evil 6)

Slimy but sexy or sexy but slimy?

Resident Evil 6 has polarized many gamers and critics, but I think most will agree that one of the most memorable segments is with the rather sexy but ultimately scary and slimy Deborah Harper. Sister to new protagonist Angela, Deb had an unfortunate fate- to be transformed into a mutant monstrosity out to kill both her loving sister and Leon S. Kennedy... which of course meant she was going to go down, and down hard. Deb's monster design was apparently styled to somehow evoke imagery of a sexy burlesque dancer, which explains her provocative poses and movements- something we may have lost sight of due to the slimy green skin and the giant mutant appendages clawing at our faces. Oh well, at least she still had really nice-looking feet regardless... but man, kissing those slimy soles would surely be unpleasant...

Dead or Alive 5: Fan Service and Fighting Feet!

Hitomi's Karate Feet are always a Lovely Treat in DOA!

In case you didn't know, Tecmo-KOEI released the sexy comeback beat 'em up Dead or Alive 5 earlier this week. While this game has traditionally been known more for bouncy boobs, there has usually been goodies for foot-lovers as well, save perhaps for the previous DOA4 (which was all-around horrible anyway for various reasons). Well, with DOA5 comes a couple of barefoot babes out of the box; the first of course is our always-awesome Hitomi, the German-Japanese Karate Princess who is fortunately once again rocking her trademark Karate Gi. Thanks to the upgrade in graphics and character model detail, Hitomi's feet are quite nice (if a bit delicate-looking for a martial artist) and will surely please footfans. There's quite a lot of great views ingame when Hitomi is barefoot and kicking butt, and there's even various scenes in the game's Story Mode that has nice views for our soleful enjoyment!


This cutscene has Hitomi practicing her karate in her gi, and showing off quite an awesome sole shot and some nice closeups. Oh, and Leifang's quite hot too...

Aside from Hitomi, there's also the lovely newcomer, MMA cutie Mila who shows off her fighting feet with her default shorts and footguards outfit. Mila is a refreshing addition to the roster, and her moves and grapples are given to lots of foot shots.


DOA5's new barefoot babe, Mila, is quite a hottie. Oh, and she also shares the same VA (Japanese) as another barefoot fave- Asuka Kazama!

The next couple of vids show off both barefoot hotties in action. No matter who wins, its footfans who come out on top!





Finally, the last barefoot babe in the game out of the box is Alpha 152, the gel-like super clone boss who debuted in DOA4. She's unlockable after you play the game a lot. The cutscene below has a nice closeup view of her feet... what a nice entrance!


You can imagine that Alpha's gummi-like feet must taste pretty fruity... heheh.

That's it though. Sadly, DOA5 has no barefoot customization, even if it has glasses and underwear customs (ARGH). As I've posted before, there's an ongoing petition which aims to ask developers Team Ninja to add a barefoot option for the game's swimsuit outfits- the petition is more than halfway complete, and needs only 30 or so more signatures to be ready... if you're a foot fan, you MUST sign and give this movement your support. With luck, DOA5 may become an even hotter game for footlovers.
For now though, it's still quite a solid fighter and a sexy one at that with the three available shoeless hotties- actually a pretty good number compared to most previous DOAs (DOA3 and DOAU only has Hitomi showing off her soles). Is it something to get? Why, yes, I think. So if you're looking for another sexy foot-friendly fighting game, you can do no wrong with Dead or Alive 5. Okay, it should be pretty well-known by now that while the upcoming fighter from Tecmo-KOEI, Dead or Alive 5 is coming with some sexy bikinis- they ALL come with blasted footwear. Of course, we want the babes barefoot, dammit! At the very least, Team Ninja should make available an option to toggle those sandals- just like how they can toggle hats or glasses on the characters. Well, apparently someone else felt strongly about this... enough to start an online petition over at Change.org. So I say- SUPPORT IT!

You can find the petition for Tecmo/KOEI to add the option to toggle the sandals off the bikinis in DOA5 over here. Will this guarantee Team Ninja will do this? No, but if there's even a slight chance, why not support it? At the very least, we can let devs know what we want. The petition just needs 100 individuals signed up to make it work... there are 71 followers here on the blog, and 2000+ subscribers on my Youtube channel- 100 signatures shouldn't be too hard... right?

Mila, Barefoot MMA Fighter! (Dead or Alive 5)

Say hello to Mila, footfans!

Here's some good news for us footfans for the upcoming Dead or Alive 5. Previously the only reason for us to get excited about this game is Hitomi, our barefoot karate princess, in her now-returned Karate Gi. Well, there's another barefoot (or at least, semi-barefoot) babe in the game, and that's the new girl Mila. Described as an 'MMA Fighter', Mila fights with Muay Thai and kickboxing, and dresses similar to Brad Burns from VF5. Her default outfit has her wearing those ubiquitous martial arts wraps/footguards that leave her toes and heels bare. I'm crossing my fingers that she has at least one or more fully-barefoot outfits in her wardrobe.

Anways, this is good news for a game that has so far been otherwise bare in terms of bare feet; Hitomi's Karate Gi is our one only other option- it seems that every one of the girls is wearing sandals or shoes in their bikini outfits, which sucks. Hoping that Mila bucks the trend somehow, seeing as she's a bit of a break from the usual appearance of a 'DOA Girl'. At the very least though, we now have both her and Hitomi as muses in the game. I'll be keeping an eye of DOA5 as the release date nears (I'll be a bit busy with Tekken Tag 2, but whatever). For now, check out the vid above and see if Mila makes you dream of MMA Feet...

DOA5 Bikinis: Team Ninja Blows It (Dead or Alive 5)

DOAU all over again... and not in a good way.

For the past couple of weeks, Dead or Alive 5 has been very promising for us barefoot fans. Contrary to what was originally perceived as a game that would be cutting down on the series' legacy of fan service, DOA5 has recently been announced to feature sexy swimsuits for its female cast once it arrives this coming September. However, as we see in the screens above, these skimpy outfits come with an unwelcome aspect- footwear. Okay, bikinis with sandals or high heels may do it for many guys out there, but for me, the shoes just ruin the whole affair.

It's really a pity- we can clearly see the character models' feet are nicely rendered and look very yummy... they don't need to be cooped up in those leather cages. Those soles need to kiss the earth!

Now, not all is lost- it IS known that the babes may have several swimsuits, and MAYBE one will have them barefoot. Maybe the shoes can be customized away? Then again, maybe not. Maybe, like before in DOAU, only Hitomi will be barefoot in her bikinis (hopefully) once again. Who knows? We'll just have to wait and see for more media from this fighter. Right now, I'm just disappointed. Well... nothing a session or two with the VF5FS girls won't remedy. Heheh... I'll keep on this like a hawk. It's still a long way till September.

Hitomi E3 2012 Gameplay Foot-age! (Dead or Alive 5)

She's back in her gi and looking awesome!

Dead or Alive 5 is being shown off at this year's E3, and lots of gameplay is finally being revealed. Also now come to light is the fact that our favorite karateka, Hitomi, has gotten her karate gi (or uniform) back! It's not quite the same as in previous games, but at least she's still totally-barefoot in it (no instep guard nonsense for this hardcore cutie) and looking darn great. I'm still bummed out that it still seems that no one ever gets knocked out in this beat 'em up, but having barefoot babes in this sexy brawler kinda assuages my outrage.

On another, but similar, note, it's already clear that characters in DOA5 are getting multiple costumes- apparently there will also be 'sexy' outfits in the final release, and in an announced Collector's Edition. The sexy outfits haven't yet been all shown off, but Kasumi's is one of her DOAX swimsuits. We still haven't been shown a full pic of Kasumi in the swimsuit, so unless I see her actually barefoot in it (DOAU had her in a bikini but wearing darn sandals) I'll hold off celebrating. In any case, it looks like Dead or Alive 5 won't be scrimping on the sex appeal and fan service, so that makes it something to look forward to in a few months. Man, which will be the hotter game- DOA5 or Tekken Tag 2? It's pretty clear though- VF5 Final Showdown kicks both of their asses handily... heheh.

UPDATE: Replaced my previous blurry screencaps with nice, clearer images. FINALLY a great development in the upcoming sequel to DOA. After a long, long wait footfans can look forward to barefoot babe action in Dead or Alive 5. The latest trailer to the game, debuting at this year's E3, reveals (albeit briefly) the lovely Hitomi wearing her Karate Gi and barefoot... as she SHOULD BE. It's been too long since the brown-haired karateka has been in her proper dojo attire- I was afraid for a while that we'd have another crappy DOA4 chapter but this finally makes DOA5 a title I can get behind.  Now, if only the game gives the other girls barefoot outfits as well... I'm happy with Hitomi already, but hey, the more the merrier! There does seem to be customization in the game- perhaps we'll see shoeless options for the other ladies. In any case Hitomi makes DOA5 a must-get for me this September... perhaps Team Ninja can sweeten the pot and throw in her polka-dot bikini as well? Heheh... I'll be keeping my eye on DOA5 from here on in. More barefoot karateka as we find her!
